Editorial policy and fact-checking
The site only works if you can tell what is known, what is reported and what is still a guess. This is how we draw the lines.

Source hierarchy
We prefer the closest available source to the game. A developer announcement or the store page outranks a video; a current in-game screenshot outranks an older build guide. A community thread can be useful evidence of a real blocker, but it is never presented as an official design statement.
A direct statement from the developer or publisher, an official storefront field, an official patch note, or a clear official in-game screenshot.
A credible third-party report with a verifiable origin. We use it for context and corroboration, not to override a direct official statement.
A player report from a current build. We reproduce it only when it solves a real problem, and we link to the thread and mark that it can change.
A storefront timestamp, a third-party data listing or a calculation. It is useful for planning but is not publisher confirmation.
No reliable public source establishes the detail. We say we do not know instead of inferring a number from another game.
What we will not publish
- Invented characters, quests, items, recipes, maps or enemy stats.
- Fake hands-on experience or fabricated playtime.
- Third-party price, revenue, player-count or search-volume claims presented as official data.
- Fake “updated today” timestamps with no verifiable change.
- Generic FAQ blocks added only to fill keyword space.
- Automatic entity pages built by renaming the same paragraph.
Dates, patches and version context
Game mechanics can change in a patch. Pages carry a last-checked date and name the relevant build when a finding comes from a demo or playtest. The update log only lists entries tied to an official announcement or patch note. If a page relies on a community-tested step, it says so and links the thread rather than silently merging it into official fact.
Use of AI assistance
This site uses AI-assisted drafting and editorial tooling. AI output is not a source. We compare claims against linked primary material, keep uncertain details out of confirmed fields and label community findings. We do not use AI to invent experiences, statistics or relationships between game entities.
Advertising and independence
The site is designed to support itself with clearly labelled display advertising. No advertiser receives editorial approval over a page. The current build does not load an ad script until a live placement is configured; when advertising is enabled, the privacy policy will reflect the active setup and consent controls where required.
Corrections
A correction should include the page URL, the specific statement and a verifiable source. We will update the page rather than quietly deleting a mistake. For urgent factual issues, use [email protected] and put “Correction” in the subject line.
Scope of this policy
This policy covers all guides, databases, tools, update entries and explanatory pages on mainsequenceguide.wiki. External sites are governed by their own policies. The policy may be revised as the site adds new formats, including advertising or analytics; the effective date at the top changes when it does.
Effective November 1, 2026. This page is an editorial policy, not legal advice.
